I prefered Haley in this episode because I just thought that she was amazing! with her acting and singing, and the emotions she let out… simply wonderful!! and so beautiful too, her look was just perfect
and just after her, Brooke, because I also thought that she acted very well, and I just love the way her character is presented in this episode.

I love Brooke in this episode…Sophia just has that classic look to her so the 1940’s style suited her really well

Haley fit perfectly in the 1940s world. I always knew she would considering she’s an elegant beauty, she can adapt her voice to any time period (regarding her singing) and her subtle accent was pure LOVE. Let’s just face it… she rocked it. She can easily fit among the stars of the silver screen: Grace Kelly, Vivian Leigh, Barbara Stanwyck, Bette Davis… etc.
I honestly don’t know why Sophia is winning this poll. Sophia’s a modern-day girl… there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that… but she didn’t FIT in the episode. I’m talking as someone who watches a LOT of movies from the 1940s… and Sophia didn’t act remotely close to anything the girls in that era did. I’m not talking about her character but her as an actresses cannot pull that era off.

Haley was the best for sure. Everything about her from her look, acting to voice was spot on. She was a joy to watch.

definitely joy…she was absolutely stunning…..sophia and hil didnt seem to fit in…they just seemed odd - acting wise
joy definitely did her research and her accent was spot on!
she deserves to be on the big screen! and her songs were awesome, m glad she is finally getting the recognition she deserves.
hands down the best actress on tree hill!

Haley owned the part! She fits so well in that era. She is a classic beauty and I adored her in this episode (as I do in ALL episodes!)

Haley (Joy) was by far the best! Nathan (James) comes second. No he didn’t have an accent, but the look and feel to him was well-deserving of the 1940’s era. I’m with Nicki about being a fan of the 1940’s era and watching movies from that time period and Brooke (Sophia) did not fit in at all! Peyton (Hilarie) almost did, but she still didn’t quite fit with me either. Lucas (Chad) did a good job, but Haley and Mouth fit with the time period the best. For those that are saying that Sophia portrayed an elegant 1940’s woman, I can just hear Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman rolling around in their graves!

I enjoyed it all but I thought that Joy was tops. Followed by Lee and Paul. I really loved the first scene with Haley and Dan. Joy really played it well. Some say they didnt like this episode but I thought it was pretty inventive, even though it broke away from the current storyline and I thought Chad did a fine job in writing his first episode. Maybe you have to like film noir or that 40s time period but I think it was a classic time in film. For those who havent delved into it I would highly recommend you check it out.

Haley, definitely! All of the other characters seemed like their usual selves (Except for their clothing, of course) but Haley had the accent and everything! She really did an amazing job!

Joy by far played the character to its fullest. If this was played in broadway, then joy’s performance would have earned a standing ovation. I don’t understand why Sophia won when her acting skills in this episode did not even merit recognition (to me that is). Sophia in this episode was still the same as Brooke Davis in the modern day period. Joy in any character, I think would stand out because she is a born actress and singer through and through and I like that she has her principles and she stands by them. What a great person!
